BERNARD E. BOUCHER
PORTLAND – Bernie Boucher, 80, died unexpectedly Wednesday 9/25/2024 at Maine Medical Center after a brief illness from natural causes. He was born 9/10/1944 in Eagle Lake Maine to Rose Burgoyne and Edmond Boucher.
Bernie graduated from the Baxter School for the Deaf Falmouth ME. He went on to graduate from the American School for the Deaf in Hartford CT. Bernie was involved with many sports and groups in the deaf community including football, basketball, and wrestling. Bernie followed the Yankees and the Green Bay Packers his whole life.
After many years away in Connecticut he relocated back to Maine and began working at Maine Medical Center and with Paul Saucier Cleaning Services. He enjoyed his time back in Maine connecting with friends and family.
Bernie was predeceased by his parents Rose and Edmond, sister Edie and her husband Ed Beaulieu, brothers, Freddie & Maxim Saucier. Bernie is survived by brothers Norman Boucher and Wife Phyllis of North Carolina, Paul Saucier and wife Mary and Steve Saucier and wife Mary of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Bernie's request the funeral services will be private. Bernie will be buried at Eagle Lake with his father. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
Donations to the Animal Refuge League will be accepted in Bernie's name.
The Family would like to thank the Staff of St Josephs Manor, and Falmouth Commons for the outstanding service and love and care while he was there.
Bernie and his family were given outstanding communication services from Pine Tree Interpreters for many years. Thank you to all.
