Bernard Pacy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kloecker Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Erie (a.k.a. Francis V. Kloecker on Sep. 18, 2025.
Bernard E. "Buddy" Pacy, Jr., 69, of Erie, passed away on September 15, 2025. He was born in Erie on April 13, 1956, a son of the late, Bernard E. Sr. and Terra (Malone) Pacy.

Buddy was known in recent years as Erie's longest-performing semi-retired drag queen, lived a life full of creativity, style, and friendship.

Buddy's love for the arts began shortly after high school, where he immersed himself in theater and performance. He was involved in numerous productions, including Studio 219 under the direction of Lucien Zombronmy, the National Playwright Showcase at Mercyhurst College, and The Roadhouse Theater. He also graced the stage at PACA on State Street, sharing his passion and talent with Erie audiences.

During his time in New York City, Buddy worked with Macy's and Chanel, blending his flair for fashion with his professional pursuits. A licensed cosmetologist, he co-owned the local hair salon Eugene Charles and also worked in several salons in Manhattan. Upon returning to Erie, Buddy continued his career by running his own salon from the basement of his home, proudly using the motto on his business cards: "Beauty is my life."

Above all, Buddy will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his loyalty as a friend, and his ability to make people feel special.

He is survived by his partner, Richard Quinlan; his son, Aaron Pacy and his family; as well as extended family members and countless friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by his older brother, Timothy Pacy.

We met at Academy High School and reconnected through City Style Models. You were the Magician Hair Stylist! And boy could you Polka!! You were always a caring and kind person who looked out for others. The last time I saw you was for your part at the Paca Theater in "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane" There you were on that Stage in all your GLORY. I will always remember you this way. You at your happiest! So much TALENT taken from all too soon. Our Sincere Condolences to your son Aaron and family and to the MANY Friends who will miss you dearly. RIP Friend until we meet again.
