Bernard "Bernie" Lee Robart (1956 – 2025)
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Bernard "Bernie" Lee Robart, a dedicated family man, loyal friend, and proud United States Marine, who passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born on July 13, 1956, in Muskegon, Michigan, Bernie lived a life defined by honor, discipline, and unwavering devotion. He attended Reeths Puffer School and was a graduate of Whitehall High School in 1975. His service in the Marine Corps instilled a deep sense of integrity and loyalty, qualities that defined his character throughout his life. To know Bernie was to witness resilience and a quiet, powerful courage.
A Life of Unwavering Love and Community
Bernie's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He shared an exceptional bond with his wife, Amy Robart, celebrating 46 years of marriage, having been united on November 17, 1979. He served as the steady foundation, the source of wisdom, and the constant protector for his loved ones. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and sisters was profound and absolute.
Beyond his dedication to family and country, Bernie was an avid outdoorsman. He found great peace and connection in nature, particularly through hunting and fishing. He cherished the camaraderie of hunting with his son and the quiet, joyful moments spent fishing with his grandchildren. These traditions were a meaningful part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Bernie was also a dedicated member of the community, generously giving his time to coaching multiple youth sports teams in the White Lake area, particularly those involving his own children. He had a passion for mentoring young athletes, instilling in them not just skills, but the values of teamwork, discipline, and good sportsmanship.
Enduring Legacy
Bernard leaves behind his beloved wife, Amy Robart, and their four children, who will carry on his spirit: Jennifer (Rudy) Wahlers, Josh (Amanda) Robart, Rachel (Keith) Mack, and Noah (Jaimie) Robart.
He was a proud and devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren: Keeghan Wahlers, Aleigha Mack, Darnell Mack, Karley Wahlers, Jaxon Mack, Olivia Robart, Hudson Robart, and Bennett Robart
Bernie is also survived by his sisters: Rhonda Robart, Reggie (Jim) Vandyke, Kris Robart, and Kathy Robart.
He is also survived by his dear friend and fellow Marine, Kelly "Rabbit" Duval, a brotherhood that meant the world to him.
He shared an inseparable bond with his companion animals throughout his life-Mandy, Dillon, Winnie, Fatz, Layla, Brutas, Grandy, Hazel, Baxter, and Scout-who brought him immense comfort and steadfast loyalty.
Bernard is preceded in death by his loving parents, Bernard and Elsie Robart.
A visitation and Celebration of Bernie's Life will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 5149 Dowling St, Montague, MI 49437, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
