Bernard "Joel" Weinstein, 84, of Brooklyn, Westbury, New York City, and Edgartown, MA, Entered Eternal Rest on September 7, 2024.
Joel served honorably in the US Navy and was a graduate of C.W. Post College.
He was a Jack of all trades and master of many. Joel served as an electronics technician in the Navy and never stepped foot on a ship. He was a health inspector, owned a liquor store, was a realtor, banker, salesman, and finally, a general manager for multiple parking companies in New York City. Beyond all of these roles, Joel helped the people around him live better lives.
Joel's jobs alone did not define him. He was a classical pianist, and taught himself both to play acoustic guitar and to draw. Joel loved to write stories and songs and was forever working on a book. He was an avid fisherman who loved to run, especially with his dog, Pax, and strongly believed that a vegetarian diet and physical fitness lead to a long and healthy life.
He was the devoted husband of Sandra (Reidman) Weinstein; beloved father of Mollie and her husband, Josh Shenker; adored grandfather of Aaron Shenker; lifelong brother (in-law) to Lori and Tim Powers; son of Sophie and Phil Weinstein, and the brother of Arthur Winston.
Services will be at the Temple Emanuel of Andover Cemetery, 202 Mount Vernon Street, Lawrence, on Wednesday, September 11th, at 10:00 AM.
Condolence calls may be made at the home of Mollie and Josh Shenker, 26 Candlewood Drive, Andover, following the interment on Wednesday until 4 PM, and on Thursday from 3-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation: https://www.parkinson.org/
