Bernd D. Gruner

Bernd D. Gruner was born March 11, 1954, in Essen, Germany. He was the son of Martha Gruner. He departed this walk of life Friday July 4, 2025 at the age of 71.

By occupation, Bernd worked as a security guard for Red Bird Christian School. Bernd enjoyed making salsa, drinking coffee and baking bread. In his free time he liked traveling, especially loved the ocean. Bernd was also a big soccer fan. 

In addition to his mother, Bernd was preceded in death by one brother Hans - Peter Frey, and one step-son Adam Brock and wife Michele Brock.

Bernd leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Ruthie Gruner of Helton, KY; two step-sons, Justin Brock (Faye), and Derrick Brock (Mary); two daughters, Mercedes Gruner (Adam) of NC, and Amber Gruner (Molly) of NC; two grandchildren, Rachel Bailey and Oscar Gruner; five step-grandchildren, Gabriel, Dylan, Heidi, Taylor, and Gracie (his little red head). A host of other relatives and friends survive. 

The funeral service for Bernd D. Gruner will be held at 2p.m. Thursday July 10, 2025 at the Dry Fork Holiness Church at Helton, KY with Reed Brock and John Lundy officiating.

Interment will follow the services at the Honey Branch Cemetery at Helton, KY. 

Friends and family may gather for visitation after 2p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Dry Fork Holiness Church.
