Bernice Irene Dinger Adcock, age 93 of Monticello, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at The Woods Nursing and Rehab after a long battle with dementia. She was born on May 9, 1932, in Hegins, PA to the late James Nathan Daniel Dinger and Dorothy Ellen Edwards Dinger.

She had a very humble upbringing as a child. Shirley Adcock, her beloved husband was in the United States Army when they married. They saw a lot of the world together. Most of her life was spent on a farm where she operated all the farm equipment and kept the books on all of their businesses. Never once did she neglect her household responsibilities. When her husband passed away, she found herself very involved with the Monticello Senior Citizens Center. She loved to put jigsaw puzzles together and found great joy in taking care of her hummingbirds. She even learned how to fly an airplane. She was a member of Cominto Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Craig; five brothers, Leonard, Floyd, Wilmer, Gerald and Donald Dinger; and one sister, Linda Dinger.

Survivors include two sons, James Lee Adcock of Crossett and Larry Dale Adcock, Sr. of Sherwood; three sisters, Carolyn Cook, Darlene Klinger and Joan Dinger; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Adcock McWhorter and Betty Adcock Boring; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Chambers and Rev. Todd McMillen officiating. There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. You can sign Mrs. Bernice's guestbook registry here on this website.
