1939 – 2023
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Bernice on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the age of 83 years. She passed peacefully in her sleep, quietly, and with calmness surrounding her.
She was predeceased by her husband Conrad Olson; her parents Roy and Theresa Bauman; and brother-in-law Randy Lowerison.
Bernice will be forever remembered by her son Lindsay (Lorraine); daughter Lana (Keith); and by her treasured grandchildren Evan, Noah, and Sydney. Bernice is also survived by her sisters Lenore of Regina, SK; Joyce of Oakville, ON; and Brother Larry (Sandhya) of Saskatoon, SK; along with many extended family members.
Mom had a love for plants and flowers. All who had seen her yard at the house could attest to its beauty. She worked hard to ensure it was perfect with her green thumb shining through. She also took great pleasure in her large garden, where she always planted and tended to more vegetables than she and dad could eat, taking great pride in sharing the fruits of her labor with as many as she could.
Moms working career was at Canada Safeway for 32 years. She was always proud to show those she was with, which stores she worked in, where they were located, and how she would often have to take multiple buses to get there. To this day, there are former customers whom she would run into and stop and visit with. After retiring from Safeway, she worked with dad for a brief period at Mobile Propane.
Out of all the roles mom played, her favorite was by far "Grandma"! She adored and admired her three grandchildren, never missing an event whether it was a band concert, a sacrament celebration, a musical and many other events in between. Being a grandma was her greatest joy and her happiest accomplishment.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at Holy Child Parish, 2636 - 7 Avenue East, Regina, SK on Wednesday June 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Lunch and Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria Park Personal Care Home for the love and care that she received living there. It was a true blessing to have you watching out for mom when we could not. Special thank you to Holly for all the time spent with mom.
