Bernice Simmermaker Obituary
Petersburg - Bernice Cathyrin Simmermaker, 92, of Petersburg, Illinois, formerly of Jacksonville, IL, passed away at 10:49 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, Illinois, with her family by her side. She was born February 19, 1930, in Bath, Illinois, to Gordon and Bertha (Staging) Hardin.
Bernice grew up in Kilbourne, Illinois, on her family's farm. She attended school in Bath and received her Nursing Degree from Illinois College. She married Loren Simmermaker on September 1, 1953. She loved being a nurse, the farm where she grew up and her family. She was fond of horses and animals. She was soft spoken and enjoyed taking trips with Loren.
Bernice is survived by her three sons, Gary Simmermaker of Kilbourne, Darrell (wife Tina) Simmermaker of Springfield, Illinois, and Roger (wife Gladys) Simmermaker of Orlando, Florida; her grandchildren, Cate, Bethany, Andruw, Dakota and Faithe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren, on November 10, 2015.
A private family graveside will be held at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia, Illinois, with Pastor Rob Gallion officiating.

I just found out the loss of Bernice.
My prayers are with all 3 of her boys.
There was no one that loved and was more proud of you boys than her. She loved you no matter what was going on in your lives at any time. She would do anything for you all.
