Bernice R. Simpson

Bernice Eileen (Rathbun) Simpson, age 99, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Bernice is survived by her loving and devoted children: Robert (Anita) Simpson, Janice (Boyd) Peters, Joyce Willson and Linda (Eric) Rose; her dear grandchildren: Alexis, Brian, Cassandra, Nathan (Toni), Joshua (Casandra), Jacob and Luke; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Nash, Libby, Declan, Christina and Allison. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Robert "Bob" Simpson; her parents: John and Charlotte (Hall) Rathbun; her siblings: Janice Mast, John Rathbun and Joseph Rathbun.

Bernice enjoyed providing a warm and beautiful home for her family. Her background as an efficiency expert surprised no one who knew her; she rarely missed a detail.

Handicrafts were her passion and she was driven to use her knowledge and skills in service to others. She especially enjoyed her experiences as a Welcome Wagon Hostess. She took pride in a job well done. Games, puzzles and music brought her joy, and she was hard to beat at Wii bowling or bocce ball. She was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church.

We are forever grateful for her love and support in all our lives. She will be dearly missed.

Interment services will be private. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Friendship Village, 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241.
