Albert Henry “Bert” Wunderlich III, of Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He was born August 28, 1940, in St. Louis, MO to the late Al and Arline Wunderlich.

Bert graduated from John Burroughs School (1958) and Princeton University (1962). He and Bobbe were married in December, 1962. After a four-year tour of duty as an officer with the U.S. Air Force, Bert and his family returned to his native St. Louis. Bert had a 36-year career in the financial services business as an investment advisor and Certified Financial Planner with the Clayton office of Merrill Lynch. After his retirement in 2004, he designed and presented several courses in the economics curriculum of the Lifelong Learning Institute of Washington University. Bert had an avid interest in live theater, and he enjoyed performing on stage and serving on the board of governors of the Kirkwood Theatre Guild, which honored him with a Lifetime Membership in 2009. He enjoyed golf, his swimming pool, his family and grandchildren, his friends and extensive worldwide travel with Bobbe.

He was an extraordinary man who inspired us with his vast intelligence, strong work ethic, thoughtfulness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humor. He made a lasting impact on our lives and we will miss him greatly.

Bert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbe; daughter Kristin (Greg) Jackson, sons Kurt (Kara) and Karl (Stacey) and eight grandchildren: Reid, Dane and Brynn; Nolan and Dorothy; Darren, Bradley and Megan; siblings Bob (Jean) and Joan (Chuck) Howard.

Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Chesterfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
