Bertha, the daughter of James and Oleta (Davis) Richard, was born December 10, 1947, in Seminole. She grew up in Maud, and graduated from Maud High School, with the class of 1966. A lifelong member of the Seminole area, Bertha spent a portion of her life, living with her daughter, helping take care of her granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oleta and James Richard; and by her brother, James (Roy) Richard.
