Bertha Lozoya Holquin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 74. A lifelong resident of Sacramento, California, Bertha was born on June 21, 1951, and grew up in a large and loving family of 12 children. She attended Sacramento High School and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.

Bertha's warmth and unwavering strength were a guiding light to all who knew her. She carried herself with grace, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion.

Bertha was marred to her husband George Holquin for 36 years. Together, they raised three children; Lisa (George), George (Eleanor), and Suzie. Bertha built a life centered around love, loyalty, and tradition. She took immense pride in her role as matriarch to 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A proud Sacramentan, Bertha was actively involved in several community organizations. A dedicated member of AMVETS Capitol Post 1, VFW Post 1267, and Moose Lodge 255, where she found camaraderie, purpose, and the joy of giving back. After courageously surviving cancer, Bertha rededicated herself to helping others – organizing and participating in numerous charity events through her community organizations. Her tireless efforts uplifted many, and her passion for service became one of the defining chapters of her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Holquin; her parents, Ramon and Refugio Lozoya; her brothers Raymond, Antonio, Ricardo, and Rueben; and her sisters Christina and Delia. Bertha is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family who will carry on her legacy.

Bertha will be remembered for her fierce love, quick wit and vibrant energy she brought into every room. Her loss leaves a deep void, but her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

"Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
