Bertie was very kind to me when I joined the Boulder bridge scene back in the early 80's. I was new in town and she would always include me in her parties and even threw a 40th birthday dinner for me at her home in '88. She will be missed.

I feel sad that I won´t have another occasion to sit with my dear friend Bertie and listen to her wonderful stories and share a few laughs. I loved sharing a few summer days with her at her condo in Steamboat, along with other bridge pals of hers. We played bridge from morning til night with only a few breaks to take walks, attend an outdoor string concert or watch the pro bikers race into town. There was never a dull moment when we were with Bertie.
RIP and I hope we´ll meet again.
