Bertie Lynnette Hanun

Bertie Lynnette Hanun, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on July14, 2025, in Harker Heights, Texas, at the age of 91. She was born on September 19, 1933 in Hughes Oklahoma. Lynnette was the eldest of five children born to Haskell and Craig LaMascus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene, her brothers Royce and Richard LaMascus and brother-in-law Bill Minor. She is survived by her loving sisters, Detrah Stevens and her husband, David, and Teletha Minor. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Martha LaMascus, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who cherish her. From the age of 12, Lynnette worked in her parents' grocery store. Her determination was evident when she picked cotton the save money for her high school graduation ring, a ring she later, and ironically, lost while picking cotton again. Encouraged by Mrs. Vaughn Lynnette applied to Saint Anthony's nursing school, graduating as an RN in 1954. She found her true calling in nursing and dedicated many years to the profession in various capacities. She took a break from nursing for 8 years to be a homemaker, the Church secretary, and raising 3 foster children alongside her own; working with her husband on their homestead farm and ranch in the Elmore area.The last year and half of Lynnette's life were spent living with her son, Glenden Hanun, and his wife, Rita, who provided her with loving care in their home until her passing.Lynnette is survived by her children; daughter, Janet Ritchie and her husband, Larry; son, Glenden Hanun and his wife, Rita; and son Michael Hanun and his wife, Jan. She was a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren; John, Joshua, and Bailey Hanun; Jacob Hanun and his wife Kenisha; Hope Old and her husband Bren-dan; Matthew and Jessica Hanun and Stephen Frazee and his wife Cherilyn, She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren; Jackson, Cameron, and Emerson Frazee. Lynnette was preceded in death by her grandson, Jesse Frazee.Lynnette's life was marked by dedication to her family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for caring for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her
