Bertie Diane "Wyss" Watts

Bertie Diane (Wyss) Watts, 47, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2026 at her home in Keytesville, MO. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Inurnment will be at Elliott Grove Cemetery in Brunswick, MO.

Diane, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on December 20, 1978 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Albert Charles and Diane Elain (Dougherty) Wyss. She graduated from Southeast High School in Wichita, KS in 1996 and later went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) associate degree from Moberly Area Community College.

Diane worked for several nursing homes in north central Missouri over the years. Most notably, she worked for Chariton Park Health Care Center in Salisbury, MO for 10 years and worked at Pioneer Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home in Marceline, MO until her passing.

Diane was a Baptist in the Christian faith who loved her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and watching classic TV shows and movies, including her favorites, Golden Girls, Little House on the Prairie, Fraiser, and It's a Wonderful Life.

Diane is survived by her three children, Weston Charles-Gallos of Kansas City, MO, Michael Watts and his Fiancée Brooklynn Pierce of Columbia, MO, and Kiara Watts of Maryville, MO; two siblings, Brenda Mathews of Keytesville, MO and Arthur Wyss of TN; and her ex-spouse and friend, James Watts III.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Diane; one brother, Albert Wyss Jr.; and her stepson, James Watts IV.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Watts, Kiara Watts, Mark Bernie, Scott Bernie, and James Watts III.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials donations to Leave a Paw Print Legacy Foundation, which helps support the students of Brunswick R-II. Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO 65236.
