Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Bertram Nelson "Bert" Pooley III, 74, passed away on April 6, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on October 4, 1950, in Tampa, Florida, Bert lived a life marked by devotion to family, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.Bert proudly served in the United States Navy for four years, embodying a spirit of dedication and patriotism that remained with him throughout his life. After his military service, he continued to live with Navy pride and purpose, always staying true to himself and the values he held dear.He was a man who found happiness in everyday pleasures-fishing under the Florida sun, taking drives out to Lake Washington, and sharing meals with friends. These moments reflected his love for connection and nature. Bert loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His children meant the world to him. As a Christian, Bert's faith was a guiding light in his life.Bert was known for having a heart of gold and being a friend to everyone he met. His warmth and kindness left lasting impressions on those around him. He lived life the way he wanted-authentically and fully-and his presence brought comfort and joy to many.He is lovingly remembered by his children: Brian Nelson Pooley and his wife Ami; Matthew Richard Pooley and his wife Maureen; and Katie Pooley. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Alex Pooley, Blake Pooley, Abby Fridzon, and Nate Fridzon. He also leaves behind his brother Robert Pooley.Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Bertram and Mary Pooley, as well as his grandson Johnathan Pooley.A funeral service will be held on May 7, 2025, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, at 11:00 AM where family and friends gathered to honor Bert's life and memory.He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
