Newington, NH – Bessie L. "Betty" (Marinos) Brewster, age 91, of Newington, passed away on Sept. 23, 2025 at Portsmouth Hospital following a period of declining health. For 72 years, she was the beloved wife of Charles W. Brewster.

She was born in Portsmouth on Feb. 6, 1934, daughter of the late Anast & Stella (Panagacos) Marinos. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, class of 1952. She then attended UNH.

Prior to her retirement, she was a Paralegal with Al Casassa & Assoc. in Hampton for over 20 years. Previously she worked for Taylor & Gray Assoc. in Portsmouth for over 10 years.

Bessie was an avid reader, and she was a Life Master Bridge Player and founding Member of the Great Bay Bridge Club. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad.

Besides her husband, Charles, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest & Colleen Brewster of Somersworth; Dennis & Helen Brewster of San Diego, CA; four grandsons, Matthew, Stephen, Jonathan, and David Brewster; a great-grandson, Peter Brewster; a great-granddaughter, Magnolia Brewster; also several nieces, nephews & cousins. She was also sister of the late Aristides "Terry" Marinos.

SERVICES – Her Funeral Service will be held on Tues. Sept. 30, 2025 at 10:00 am at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 40 Andrew Jarvis Dr., Portsmouth, Interment to follow at Newington Cemetery, Nimble Hill Rd., Newington. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute www.DFCI.org. Arrangements in care of the J.
