Beth Bates Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Page, Rev. Rudy Tribble and Mr. Robert Barber officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Bates will lie-in-state at the church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14th from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 15th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Beth was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved reading and studying the Bible and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Bates; son, Joey Bates; granddaughter, Dani Wright; and sister Evelyn Tribble; survivors include her daughters, Pat Stephens (Randy) and Joyce Daniel (Joe); eight grandchildren, Lani Mason, Kevin Stephens (Vanna), Brad Stephens, Brody Stephens (Lexie), Jennifer Wunder (Paul), Jessica Dukes (Stacy), Mary Beth Botts (William) and Kim O'Brien (Sean); seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Wunder, Stacy Dukes, William Botts, Sean O'Brien, Dakota Botts, Mason Botts, Ishmael White and Brody Stephens.
