Beth Porter

Beth Ann Porter, age 68, of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away on January 18, 2026, at East Liverpool City Hospital. Born on April 22,1957, in Warren, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Virginia Lee (Boley) Gochenour, and resided in the area most of her life.

A 1975 graduate of Beaver Local High School, Beth was known for her dedication and service to others from a young age. In her younger years, she was a firefighter with the Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department, exemplifying her commitment to helping those in need.

Beth spent many years as a press operator at Bayley Envelope, where she worked diligently before retiring. Her strong work ethic and kind spirit left a lasting impression on her colleagues and friends.

Beth devoted much of her time to volunteer work, serving as a Surgical Hostess at East Liverpool City Hospital and offering her support to the Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, particularly focusing on their homeless prevention programs. Her compassion and generosity touched the lives of many.

Along with her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Porter, whom she married on June 11,1977. She and Bob spent the next 46 years together, until his death in 2024. She is also preceded in death by her niece, Jenny Olmstead.

She is survived by her brother, Ronald Gochenour of East Liverpool, her sister, Deborah (Chuck) Bayer of East Liverpool, her sister-in-law, Vickey Gochenour, also of East Liverpool. Beth also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored , as well as her three "fur-babies," Toto, Ruby, and Onyx, who she absolutely loved.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 5 PM to 7 PM, at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation in Calcutta. The funeral will follow at 7PM, with Pastor Don Lytle officiating.

Beth will be remembered for her warmth, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. This is not goodbye…To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8
