Beto Arellano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Niles on Feb. 1, 2026.
Beto (Al Lopez) Arellano, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born on July 12, 1949, in Torreon, Coahuila; Mexico, to the late Juan Arellano and Raquel (Arellano) Lopez. Beto lived a life fueled by his passions for music, art, and the joy of family.

Beto's early years were spent in the vibrant culture of his hometown, which instilled in him a love for the arts that would shape his future. As a young man, he found his calling in music, and thus began a journey that would lead him to touch many lives with his talent. A longstanding member of the band, Lord Chamberlain, later changed the band to Boston Cream Pie, consisting of Steve Pocza, Zolie Pocza, Gene Kiefer and David Priester. Beto was known not just as an exceptional artist and musician, but as a comrade who brought laughter and light to those around him.

His dedication to his craft was only matched by the love he had for his family. Beto was a loving husband to Vickie Arellano, together for forty years. The bond they shared was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual respect. As a father to two daughters, Crystalina (Arellano) Velez and Malissa Naugher, he was both a proud parent and an inspiration. His grandchildren, Gage Naugher, Braeden Bowman, Isabella Bowman, and Alex Chorny, brought immense joy to his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.

Beto was a loving brother to Raquel Illy, Marcoantonio Arellano (Marco Lopez), Dan Lopez and Daniel Pate, along with his late brothers Juan Arellano, Eddie "Lalo" Arellano, and sister Teresita Arellano.

Beto thrived his last 25 years due to a liver transplant of a young Joel Fry, gifted by his parents, Kevin and Susan Fry. The families of Beto and Joel would like to remind you of the life-giving gift through organ donation.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Beto's absence will leave a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but the impact he made as a musician, a visual artist, and most importantly, as a family man, will continue to resonate. His laughter, his songs, and his art will serve as a reminder of a life well-lived, full of passion and devotion.
