Betsy Sullivan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Mar. 10, 2025.
Betsy Lee Sullivan (Brashear), born January 15, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, passed away March 5, 2025, at her home after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the daughter of the late Lee McComas Brashear and Betty Joyce Rout Brashear. She is survived by her adoring husband of 53 years Edward F. Sullivan Jr.
In addition to her husband, Betsy is survived by sisters Pauline Brashear Steinacker of Catonsville, MD and Joyce Brashear Hammond of Baltimore, MD and brothers Lee McComas Brashear Jr of Spokane, WA, Wesley Brashear and wife Susan of Brandywine, MD and Dale Brashear of Catonsville, MD.
Betsy is also survived by her children and grandchildren: Shannon and Stephen McDonald Jr of Boerne, TX; Shane Sullivan and Chad Tober of Finksburg, MD and Martin Sullivan and Stacey Mathias of Westminster, MD. Jacob Ryan Mason of Mainesville, OH, Emma Renee Mason of Hampstead, MD and Jesse McComas and Vivian Lee McDonald of Boerne, TX.
Betsy had an unwavering love for her family and supported her children and Grandchildren in all their endeavors: dance recitals, sporting events (coaching), learning to play instruments and being a "Band Mom".
Many Holiday seasons she could be found alongside "Her Marine" collecting toys for tots, baking a million cookies and creating fruit baskets.
Betsy's love of animals, especially dogs (German Shepherds) was also deeply instilled in her children.
Her green thumb was legendary in her neighborhood of 45 years Teklen Drive in Westminster, Maryland. Being outdoors with her family was truly Betsy's happy place: whether fishing with Ed, hiking with the kids or playing in the sand box with the grandchildren that was her home.
Please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Foundation to help find treatments and hopefully one day a cure for this disease.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home.
