Betty Loretta Adolf

Betty L Adolf, age 91, of Spanaway, WA went to be with the Lord on Aug 26, 2023. Shew was born to Catherine Volk on May 24, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Visitation grade school and St Joseph Academy High School in Des Moines. One of her true loves was her schooling at Visitation, now called Holy Family School of Des Moines. She liked sports and in grade school she pitched for four years on her school/s softball team and they won the league championships all 4 years. She also loved swimming and completed the training for lifeguard. In 1956 she went on vacation and met the love of her life, Lieutenant Fredrick Adolf, U.S.A.F. They were married in 1956 in Sacramento Ca and lived happily together for 67 years. She loved hiking in the mountains with Fred and enjoyed golfing with him and her three sons (quite a fivesome). She was a member of the women's golf group at McChord AFB. She was a "stay at home" mom and volunteered for service to many organizations, including volunteering at their children's schools, the Spanaway food bank, their church, many activities at the Officer's Wive's club at McChord and worked 5 years as a volunteer at Nativity House, a place where the homeless in downtown Tacoma were served meals and shelter during the day. She survived by her loving husband Fred who also went to the Lord eight days later. Remaining survivors include her daughter Barbara Fink of Hamilton Montana, her sons Mark Adolf of Phoenix Arizona, Chris Adolf of Everett Washington and David Adolf of Graham Washington. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as many loving and caring friends.
A rosary will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 10:30am on Saturday Sept 23, 2023. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am. A reception is planned at the Parish Hall immediately following the funeral Mass. In remembrance, Betty requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to either:
