Mrs. Betty Ann Williams Cross of Colquitt was born on November 26, 1938, and passed away on October 2, 2025, at 86 years old. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Colquitt Methodist Church with Rev. Carrie Harper-Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Caden Henderson, Colt Henderson, Chuck Hardage, Ian Cross, Shane Stegall, and Corey Henderson serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at Colquitt Methodist Church.
Betty and her husband Perry were married 70 years and enjoyed living on their farm where Perry was famous for his Duroc hogs. They enjoyed raising and promoting the Pork industry. She traveled extensively and organized the first, second, and third Pork Queen Contest for the Georgia Pork Producers' auxiliary (Porketts). Semi-retired Betty went on to become the administrative executive secretary to the Vice-President and General Manager of Amy Industries in Arlington.
Betty is survived by her husband, Perry G. Cross; son, Russell Perry(Jenny) Cross; two grandchildren, Cherry Carmen (Corey) Henderson and Ian Robert (Robyn) Cross; great-grandchildren, Colt, Caden, and William; sister, Romana Stegall, and many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends, especially her friend and beautician, Teresa Vann. Betty is preceded in death by their daughter, Sherry Ann Cross Rouse; her parents, Ben and Agnes Wiliams; and sister, Moncile Williams McLendon.
