Betty Asker Obituary

Born on May 29, 1941, in Norwich, NY, Betty was the daughter of Leo and Flora (Nazick) Sherman. She was a graduate of Sherburne High School.
On April 23, 1960, Betty married Moses A. Asker, a blessed union, filled with much love and mutual devotion for more than 64 years until Moses' passing on July 19, 2024.
Betty was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing was more important to her than family which we felt everyday of our lives. We could not have been more blessed.
Her smile and happy demeanor was experienced by all who met her. She was an incredible cook that loved Sunday dinners that were cherished by family and friends, usually followed by "friendly" card games.
Betty was a secretary for Clinton Central Schools and the Office Manager for the Church of Annunciation until her retirement.
Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joseph Kosuda; daughter-in-law, Judy Asker; grandchildren, Samantha (Tim) and Cassandra Asker and Lucas (Jennifer) and Madison Kosuda; brother and sister-in-law, James and Marilyn Sherman; sister, Dodie Soto; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was predeceased by her son, Moses "Moey" Asker and daughter, Lorrene "Lori" Asker.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 17th from 9 to 11 a.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd, Utica. Funeral services will be at 12 noon at the Church of the Annunciation, 7616 E. South St, Clark Mills, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Kirkland Cemetery.
Remembrances in Betty's name may be made to Anita's Stevens-Swan Humane Society (www.anitas-sshs.org). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Betty's family extends their sincere gratitude to MVHS Rehab & Nursing, Barton East staff, especially Christine, Sam, Bert and Akeisha for the compassionate care shown to Betty. Also a special thank you to Dr. Atul Butala and his staff for taking exceptional care of Betty over the years.
