Betty Gean Atchley

Betty Gean Atchley, age 81, of Parks, Arkansas, passed from this life on October 3, 2025. She was born on September 14, 1944, in Dublin, Arkansas to Hays and Dovey Stovall.

Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to serving others as a home health aid for many years before changing careers and working at the Waldron Senior Citizen Center as a cook. Betty loved her family and cherished time spent with them. In her spare time, she loved to quilt and garden.

Betty is survived by her three children; John and Kim Atchley of Texas, Jimmy and Amber Atchley of Parks, Arkansas, and Marylin Himes of Parks, Arkansas, her siblings; Joyce Miner of Y-City, Arkansas, Hazel and Ray of Parks, Arkansas, Bobbie and James Gilchrist of Pearcy, Arkansas, J.R. Stovall of Subiaco, Arkansas, Albert and Norma of Mena, Arkansas, Allen and Rose Stovall of Boles, Arkansas, Walter and Cindy Stovall of Sunshine, Arkansas, Donna McCurry of Waldron, Arkansas, Pat Nelson of Delaware, Karen and Larry Rogers of Maryland, Kenny and Liz Chronister of Waldron, Arkansas, and Chuck Chronister of Texas; as well as 11 grandkids and 8 great-grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Atchley, parents Hays and Dovey Stovall, brother Thomas Stovall, grandson Mac Atchley, and son-in-law Rick Himes.

Family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas. A service for Betty will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel with Bro. George Crump and Bro. Konnor McKay officiating. Interment will follow at Hawkins Cemetery in Parks, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will include Randy Shores, Vestel Hutchens, Jodi Curtis, EJ Atchley, William Atchley, and Ray Vidrine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Waldron Senior Citizen Center in Betty's name.
