Mrs. Betty Jane Barks, age 87, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. She was born on February 16, 1938 and worked in food service as a cook at NHC for numerous years. She loved singing and cooking, especially for her family, and spoiling her grandbabies and great grandbabies.

Survivors include her daughter Teresa Sanford, grandchildren Dale (Whitley) Stauffacher and Brent Stauffacher, great-grandchildren Dylan Stauffacher, Rowan Stauffacher, Asa Stauffacher, Sydney Pardo, Sawyer Pardo, and Silas Pardo, and special friends Trina, Ron, Jacquita, Glenda, and Hollie. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lillian Hogue, sister Annie, brother Glenn Hogue, sons Keith Alan Barks and Michael Edward Barks, and her husband of 63 years, who was the love of her life, Merle Sampson Barks.

Funeral service for Mrs. Betty Jane Barks is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 27, 2025 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Ricky Arnold will officiate. Interment will follow at Brickhouse Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
