Betty Sue Jones Bartholomew Anderson of Brownwood, formerly of Bangs, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. A memorial service for Betty will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
Betty was born on November 22, 1951 in Sonora, Texas to the late G. J. and Thelma Louise Jones. Betty attended the Church of Christ and went to school in Sonora then went to school in San Angelo. She worked at the Gulf gas station and the Big Tree Restaurant in Sonora, and later moved to Bangs and made it her home. She was a caretaker and brought up her family. She was married to the love of her life, A.J. Anderson of Bangs.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Johnson of Bangs, Wendy Morris and husband Kevin of Santa Anna; her brothers, James and Clydette Jones of Lone Grove Oklahoma, and Joel Bartholomew of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Joe Paul of Medford, Canada, Chistopher B, and sister Priscilla of Bangs, and William and Ashley Otwell; great grandchildren, William "Boodroo" and Ethan Otwell of Coleman, Douglas and Rose Otwell, Cane and Troy Otwell of Midland, Misty and Brian Moody, and Lilly of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces and nephews, Kenneth of Colorado City, Michael and Tammy Conger of Odessa, Rodney Conger of Sonora, Charles and family of Gatesville, Katelynn Conger of Alexandria, VA, Michelle and Phillip Jones of Gatesville, James and Lori Jones of Odessa, James Jr. and Salra and Patrick of Odessa, Jed Anderson of May, B.J. and Laci Anderson of Bangs, Timmy and Lonetta Anderson of San Anna, Misty and her husband of Kaufman. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, A.J. Anderson; her parents, G.J. and Thelma Louise Jones; brother, Gaston Jerry Jones; sister, Linda Conger; her daughters, Lisa Ann Otwell, and Dorothy Jo Bartholomew; her sons, Damon Ray and Polly Bartholomew, and Marshall Gene "Bull" Bartholomew; her great granddaughter, Healey M Otwell; and her nephew, Russell J Conger. Betty's family would like to extend as special thank to the Oak Ridge Manor nurses, Renee, Christina, Miriam, Sherry, Alicia and Falon for the wonderful care they gave Betty.
