Betty A. Brown, age 81 of Wantage, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Paterson to the late Joseph and Bella (Albanese) Whitmore, Betty grew up in Hawthorne and lived in West Milford and Vernon before settling in Wantage ten years ago. Betty loved her grandkids, baking, and always held the Spirit of Christmas in her heart. She even had Christmas in July parties. She loved church and her family.
Predeceased by her parents; sister, Helen Way; and son-in-law, Dave Hoitsma, Betty is survived by her children, Susan Shields and husband John, Joseph Brown, Debra Makris and husband Thomas, Colleen Milne and husband Jeff, and Kim Runo and husband Chris; as well as her fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her best friend Elaine Collin.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Monday, April 29th, 2024, 4-6PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS), 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A funeral service will begin at 6PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Faith With Love Fellowship Church (PO Box 898, McAfee, NJ 07428).
