Dennis Chase Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, Inc. - Vernon on Dec. 5, 2025.
Dennis F. Chase, age 80, passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in East Orange, NJ, to the late Lewis and Tosca Chase, Dennis moved with his family to Pompton Plains at the age of 8. He graduated from Pequannock Township High School and spent time in California pursuing his education before returning to New Jersey. He later attended the Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT), where he earned his degree in civil engineering.
Dennis enjoyed a long and dedicated career, working for the Blocker Corporation in Union before finishing his professional life with TM Brennan. A gifted craftsman, he loved woodworking and took great pride in the pieces he created. He also enjoyed building model trains, walking outdoors, traveling, and spending time as a member of the Highland Lakes Club.
Dennis was a man who enjoyed living in the moment and appreciating the little things in life. In high school, Dennis famously built his own Model A car and drove it for many years-an accomplishment he recalled with pride throughout his life.
Above all, Dennis was a family man with extraordinary values. He adored his parents, and the love he held for his wife, children, and grandchildren was the center of his world.
He was predeceased by his parents; his beloved son, David J. Chase; and his brother, Lewis R. Chase III.
Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Dawn M. Chase; his daughter, Kelley Chase, and her husband, Dave Rosoff; his son, Matthew Chase, and his wife, Liz; and his two cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Lexi Chase. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
