Gary A. Kurtz Born April 23, 1958 – Passed Away May 23, 2025 Gary A. Kurtz, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025.
Born on April 23, 1958 in Pompton Plains, NJ, Gary lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and the enduring bonds of friendship. Gary was a 1977 graduate of Pequannock Township High School. He had a long career in the construction business, where his dedication and craftsmanship built not only structures but also lasting relationships.
Outside of work, Gary's passions were deeply rooted in his family and his loving partner, Maryann Fischer, who brought joy and steadfast support to his journey.
He is survived by his son Jonathan Kurtz and daughter Michelle Kurtz, who carry forward his legacy of love, integrity, and resilience. He will forever be remembered by his brothers Bob Kurtz and Ron Kurtz, his sisters Lori Kurtz and Patty Kurtz, and his loyal canine friend Bailey, whose love never wavered.
Gary was also deeply grateful for the shared memories and connection he had with his previous wife and mother of his children, Linda Zyskowski. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Janet Kurtz, and his grandparents, Abe and Norma Van Brookhoven.
Memorial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a local animal rescue in Gary's memory. Gary leaves behind a life full of cherished memories and meaningful connections that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends celebrate his life and mourn his passing with deep love and respect.
