Maureen Ann Kimak

Maureen Ann Kimak, age 68, of Pequannock, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. A beloved resident of the area, Maureen was born in Franklin, NJ, to Michael and Alice Kimak. After moving to Pequannock in 1965, she attended Pequannock Township High School, graduating in 1975. Maureen pursued her initial interest in cosmetology before transitioning to a successful 30-year career at Verizon in Morristown, after completing secretarial school.
A devoted member of Holy Spirit Church, Maureen generously shared her talents in crafting, from embroidering baptismal bibs to creating beautiful floral arrangements. Her creativity extended to her home as well, where she took great pride in her landscaping and gardening, cultivating a tranquil outdoor space she cherished annually.
Maureen loved dancing and cherished her family gatherings. Among all her beloved relatives, her relationship with her mother was profoundly special. Maureen served as her primary caretaker until her mother's passing in 2009, a loss that deeply affected her.
Maureen's passions included listening to Elvis Presley, whose music was a constant presence in her life, and cheering for the New York Yankees. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether gardening or being at the beach. An avid dog lover, she had dogs throughout her life.
She leaves behind her loving siblings, Tom Kimak and his wife Edith, Fred Kimak and his wife Karen, and Alice Galliano and her husband Mark, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
Visitation will take place from 5-8 PM on Sunday at Scanlan's: Where Life is Celebrated. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 AM on Monday at Holy Spirit Church in Pequannock, with burial to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Maureen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated by her family.
