William G. Frost, age 71, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Born in Newark and raised in Pompton Plains, Bill was a proud graduate of Pequannock Township High School, Class of 1971. As a halfback for the football team, he excelled on the field, cherishing his time under the guidance of Coach Hill. Years later, he found great joy cheering on his sons as they played on the same field, creating memories he held dear.
Bill faced life with resilience, navigating challenges that shaped much of his journey. After high school, he built his career in construction, specializing in swimming pools alongside his longtime friend Dave Coyne. He later transitioned to bartending, becoming a fixture behind the bar at American Legion Post 450 in Pequannock. For a time, he also worked as a bartender at a terminal in Newark Liberty Airport, where his larger-than-life personality made him unforgettable to coworkers and travelers alike.
Known for his humor and charm, Bill was a character in the truest sense of the word. His quick wit and stories brought smiles and laughter to all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his sons, William G. Frost Jr. and Dayton Frost; his sisters, Patty Cooke and her husband Bob, Susan Crozier and her husband Tom; his brother-in-law, Tom Ryan; as well as many beloved extended family and many dear friends who will miss him greatly. He was predeceased by his parents, and by his sister, Donna Ryan.
A celebration of Billy's life will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5-9 pm at the American Legion Post 450 Hall, Oak Avenue, Pequannock, NJ. In honor of his memory, his family invites you to raise a glass and share a laugh-just as Bill would have wanted.
