Betty Ann Charland, 86, of Virginia, IL, died Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Arcadia Care in Havana.
She was born August 2, 1938, in Virginia, the daughter of Clarence and Nellie (Lynn) Gentry.
Betty is survived by her four children, Cathy (Michael) Brown of McDonough, GA, Billy (Tonya) Brunk of Jacksonville, and Ruth (Tom) Simmons and Rick (Kimberly) Brunk, both of Virginia; eleven grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Stephen (Ericka) Brown, Brandon Miller, Billy Brunk III, Ace Brunk, Niki (Tony) Walters, Keri Gaines, Brandi Pascal, Jodi Pascal, Hannah Simmons, and Kayla Brunk; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Maudine, Mary Lou, and Karen; one brother, Jesse; and one granddaughter, Brittany Brunk.
Betty ran an in-home daycare out of her home in Virginia for several years and even fostered a few kids during that time as well. She loved to garden, sew, and walk. Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. Family was her life.
Cremation rites will be accorded and there will be a private burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or to Arcadia Care at Havana. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
