Passed on to her eternal home March 26, 2006 after a short illness. Betty was born on December 17, 1914 in N��remberg, Germany to Peter and Margarete Hubert Baier. She was the youngest of five sisters and one brother. Betty married John Albert Dahl on her twenty-fourth birthday in N�remberg, Germany. In 1951 she and John immigrated to the United States with their two children Helga and Rainer taking up residence in Salt Lake City where she lived the remainder of her life. Betty was trained as a bookkeeper in Germany but will always be remembered for working at Deseret Book engraving names on Scriptures for thousands of missionaries. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and shared her testimony often with friends and family. She loved her work as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. Betty and John enjoyed traveling around the world but most of all loved the company of their many grandchildren. Betty is survived by her daughter Helga & Dr. Rodney J. Simonsen currently serving a medical mission in the Brazil South Area of the LDS church, Rainer M. and Patricia �Trix� Dahl, Salt Lake City, grand children, Nelsen & Leslie Simonsen, San Antonio, Texas, Soren & Heather Simonsen, Salt Lake City, Utah, Eric & Corrine Simonsen, Del Valle, Texas, Kristen & Jason Norman, Salt Lake City, Utah, Thursten & Melissa Simonsen, Austin, Texas, Jessica & Jason Howard, Salt Lake City, Utah, Rodney Simonsen, Austin, Texas, David & Alisyn Crowder, Atherton, California, Lara & Rob Dye, Menlo Park California, Colin & Louise Crowder, Billings, Montana, Patrick Dahl, Salt Lake City, Utah, Phillip Dahl, Billings, Montana, and Alison & Benjamin Russell, Park City, Utah, sister Elisabetha Strecker, Salt Lake City, Utah, many great-grand children, nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the wonderful friends and the staff of Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Center. Funeral services to be held on Friday, March 31 2006 at 12:00pm at the Salt Lake Central Stake Center, 951 East 100 South where friends may come from 11:00 am. An opportunity to greet the family will be held on Thursday, March 30th from 6:30 to 8:00pm at Deseret Funeral Home 36 East 700 South. Interment at Memorial Estates Mountain View, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City
