Betty Lou Davis, 82, of Gibsonburg, passed away July 15, 2025, at Elmwood Assisted Living of Fremont. She was born in Rush, KY, on March 24, 1943, to Earl and Mary Elizabeth (Salyers) Fryer. On February 13, 1959, she married Lovell Davis Jr. in Grayson, KY, and he preceded her in death on September 7, 2000, after 41 years of marriage.
Betty’s nurturing spirit was demonstrated in her role as a homemaker and by caring for the elderly in her community where she provided companionship and comfort to those in need. However, it was her family that meant the most to her. Betty's children were her pride and joy, and their bond was a testament to the love that flourished in her heart.
A woman of faith, she was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. In her spare time, Betty loved to immerse herself in puzzles and books, finding joy in the challenges they offered. Her passion for gardening and being outdoors brought her a sense of peace, and she could often be found nurturing her plants or soaking up the sun.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tina (Anthony) Smith; grandchildren, Nikki (George) Wolfe, Jessie Davis, T.J. Smith, Cory Davis; great-grandchildren, Geordie Wolfe, Killian Wolfe; siblings, Mary Ann Griffith, Denver (Melissa) Fryer, Eddie Fryer, John (Betty Jo) Fryer, Theresa (Jim) Miller.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Davis; siblings, Viola Wright, Zella May Daniels, Earl Fryer Jr., Carl Fryer.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431.
