Jody Lynn (Carper) Angelone, 57, went to Heaven on Monday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so fiercely. Born on October 22, 1968, in Fremont, Ohio, Jody lived a life full of heart, humor, and a joy that lifted everyone around her.
She graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1987 and went on to earn her Bachelor degree from the University of Toledo in 1991 and later a Master's of Education from Bowling Green State University in 2006-achievements she worked tirelessly for and was immensely proud of. On March 16, 1991, she married the love of her life, Tom Angelone, beginning a marriage filled with laughter, teamwork, and a steady, enduring love that only grew stronger through the years.
Jody dedicated many years to adult education, ending her 30+ year career at The Ohio State University as the PDN Staff Training and Development Coordinator. She believed deeply in people and never missed a chance to lift someone up. Her involvement with COABE-where she served as regional representative, president elect, president, past president, and board member-along with her long time work with OAACE, reflected her passion for helping others grow and succeed.
But the true center of Jody's world was her family. She was happiest in a home full of laughter, kids running around, and a Buckeyes game playing in the background. Saturdays were for Ohio State, Sundays for the Cleveland Browns, and everyone knew she'd be cheering loud enough for the whole neighborhood.
Above all, Jody's favorite title was "Nonna." Her grandbabies were the light of her life. Luca, Carmen, Dominic, Enzo, little Walker, and Ashley filled her heart in a way nothing else could. Jody spoiled them, bragged endlessly about them, and loved them with a sweetness, joy, and silliness that only she could bring. To them, she wasn't just their Nonna-she was pure magic.
Those left to hold her incredible spirit close are her husband, Tom; her children, Andrew (Miranda) of Bellevue, OH, Jon Thomas of Gibsonburg, OH, and Derek (Delaney) of Fostoria, OH; her grandchildren, who will forever carry her love; her parents, Richard and Barbara Carper of Gibsonburg, OH; her siblings, Perry (Stacie) Carper of East Liberty, OH and Christopher (Julie) Carper of Powell, OH; her mother-in-law, Susan Angelone of Gibsonburg, OH; brothers and sisters-in-law Diedra (Carol) Resnick of Patton, PA, Michael (Kari) Angelone of Genoa, OH, and Matthew (Laurie) Angelone of Bartlett, IL; many nieces and nephews and loved friends and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Perry & Ruth (Lehman) Carper and Richard & Betty (Behlmer) Schmidt; her father-in-law, Richard Angelone; and her brother-in-law, Nicholas Angelone.
Visitation for Jody will be held on Friday, November 21, from 1-7 p.m. at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory in Gibsonburg. Additional visitation will take place at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 8-10 a.m., with her funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. and a fellowship following the service.
In Lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Coalition On Adult Basic Education (COABE) in honor of Jody's memory.
