Mona Marie Borcherding

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mona Marie (Morehead) Borcherding of Woodville, Ohio on November 4, 2025 after a battle with cancer. She was born on October 2, 1947 to Ross and Eileen (Hansrote) Morehead in Mansfield, Ohio. She graduated in 1965 from Gibsonburg High School.
She worked numerous places while raising her girls. Prior to retirement, Mona worked at Reichert Stamping and Toledo Technologies (later known as GT Technologies) after earning her journeyman inspector card. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Texas, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She especially loved baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren. Mona loved Rock and Roll music and took every opportunity to see her all-time favorite artist, Elton John.
She is survived by her loving companion, Jim, and her three daughters: Kellie (Sam) Jacobs, Jodie (Andy) Friess, and Jenn (Greg) Gonzalez. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandon Borcherding-Jacobs, Jacob (Erin) Borcherding, Marissa (Jay) Caldwell, Kirsten Cancelli, Lucas (Liz) Friess, Jayden Gonzalez, Gregory Gonzalez, and Ashlyn Gonzalez, and her great-grandchildren: Amie Caldwell, Emma Caldwell, Delilah Borcherding, Axton Cancelli, Augustine Cancelli and Frankie Ruth Friess. Additionally, she leaves behind her sister, Sharon (James) Reino, and brother, Ross (Cindy) Morehead, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Morehead.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, from 3-6:30 p.m., at the Pemberville Legion Hall, 405 E Front Street, Pemberville, Ohio. Mona always wanted to spread love without the attention cast back on her so please dress casually as she would have wanted.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care in her final days, and is requesting, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
