Brenda Mae Sandwisch, age 84, of Woodville, OH, passed away at home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. She was born Brenda Baumer in Woodville, OH to Achilles "Chilly" and Verna L. (Niehousmyer) Baumer on December 29, 1940. On May 9, 1959 Brenda married Alan A. Sandwisch, at Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville, OH. Brenda and Alan raised 4 children and celebrated over 46 years of marriage together, until Alan's passing in August of 2005.
In addition to being a home maker, Brenda worked at Brough's Meat Market, then at M & M Pharmacy and later in her retirement years as a Cook for Woodmore Schools both in Woodville then in Elmore. As a woman of faith, she was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville. She enjoyed bunco, cooking, baking, shopping, and was a serious fan of the Cleveland Guardian's. However, it was her family that remained her greatest love of all. Brenda lived for her grand, and great-grand kids.
Brenda is survived by her children: Mark Sandwisch of CA, Vicki Seifert of Pemberville, Connie (Todd) Icsman of Woodville, and Traci (Michael) Hummer of Arlington, OH, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. Sisters: Jeannette (Edmund) Miller, Beth (David) Custer, brother; Jay (Tina) Baumer, sisters-in-law: Cheryl (Joe) Shreffler, Jeanine Dunn, Virginia Baumer, brother-in-law; Dennis Sandwisch, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Alan, Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, sister Faye (Bill) Carl, brother; Jerry Baumer, son-in-law; Doug Seifert, sister-in-law; Donna Sandwisch, brothers-in-law: Tom Sandwisch, Marvin Burner, and nephew; Matthew Miller.
Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street Woodville, OH. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., at Solomon Lutheran Church, 305 West Main Street, Woodville, OH, on Friday, October 24, 2025, with additional visitation from 10 a.m., until the service begins. Officiating will be, Pr. Alan Brown. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: the American Diabetes or Cancer Society.
