Kirk V. Kiser, 68, of Burgoon passed away peacefully December 3, 2025, at his home. He was born in Fremont on February 1, 1957, the son of Gene W. and Patricia (Cronin) Kiser. Kirk was a 1975 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Science from the University of Toledo. He worked locally for Alkon Corporation.
Kirk began riding and showing quarter horses as a young boy. Into adulthood, he continued to show, train, and breed quarter horses on the family farm, earning several futurity championships over the years. Kirk was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Assn, Tri-State Rodeo Assn, and Triangle G Saddle Club. He and his son, Joshua, took over the family farm, following the passing of Kirk's dad, Gene. Kirk had a deep appreciation for farming and the importance of keeping the land in the family.
Kirk enjoyed auctions and restoring antiques to their former beauty. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing in the local dart ball league. In addition, Kirk served as a long-time chair of the finance committee for Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg. However, the moments he loved most were being with family, roasting the homegrown Thanksgiving turkey, and spending time with his beautiful grandchildren, Eve and Levi,on the family farm and in the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife, Rhonda (Liebold) Kiser of Burgoon, sons Joshua (Hannah) Kiser of Helena, Jacob Kiser of Rossford, grandchildren Eve and Levi Kiser, mother Patricia Kiser of Fremont, sister Cindy (Tim) Smith of Perrysburg, brother Eric (Paula) Kiser of Gibsonburg, nephews Anton (Veronica) Smith, Alex(Tu) Smith, and Andy Smith and nieces Ella and Ava Kiser. Kirk was preceded in death by his father, Gene Kiser.
Visitation will take place from 4-7 PM, on Thursday December 11, 2025, at Herman-Veh Funeral Home and Crematory, 319 W Madison Street, Gibsonburg. Viisitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, December 12, 2025, at Trinity Church 200 E Madison St, Gibsonburg, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Nick Blausey presiding. The service will be livestreamed via Kirk's obituary on the funeral home webpage.
