Betty Doler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 15, 2025.
Betty Doler passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1935, to parents Earnest and Lillie Vick.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Kee; her son, Paul Doler; her grandchildren, Leslie Prater and Gabriel Doler; and her great-grandson, Morgan Prater.

Betty married Richard "Theo" Doler at the age of 18. They had three children, one girl, Patricia, and two boys, Paul and Thomas. She became a widow at 25 and raised us in a Godly manner, seeing to all our needs. We became members at East Newnan Baptist Church, and she even taught Sunday School there. As the boys got older, they played in Little League because she loved sports and they did too.

Our yard in the neighborhood became a hot spot for ball games. I remember it well. You could actually hear my mom yelling outside, "Let's go, Braves!" She worked at Newnan Hospital's cafeteria for over 20 years, serving hot food to the sick. I call that a life well served, helping those in need. As she got older and became a grandmother, we took her on vacation with us. She loved those grandchildren very much. We noticed that as her health declined, she spent most days calling friends, talking on the phone, watching television, listening to David Jeremiah, reading the Bible, and having her family conversations in person and on the phone, never losing her faith, praying until the very end of her life, slipping away quietly and peacefully into our Lord's hands, just the way she wanted. Thank you, Jesus, for our mom.

A private family service has already been held.

Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.mckoon.com.
