Betty Louise Dooley

Betty Louise Dooley, 88, of Downingtown, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Chester County Hospital surrounded by her family.

A native of Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Daniel Hayes and Leona Florence Sternberger Hayes.

Betty was known and loved by many. She was a staple at the Downingtown Farmers Market, working in the arcade and several other shops. Those who knew her there looked for her and her motherly advice. She also spent over 25 years working at the Bowling Palace in the nursery. Her final position led her to BJ's Wholesale Club where she was "the demo lady". Betty enjoyed watching the wildlife in her back yard, birds and deer the most. She loved flowers and butterflies. Her biggest joy was watching her beloved Phillies with her grandson, Kyle.

Betty is survived by six children, Michael K. Dooley (Wendy L.), Andrew J. Dooley (Gail B.), Thomas H. Dooley (Karin D. Brian), Lynne A. Dooley, Jennifer L. Dooley Binkenstein and Mary L. Dooley. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Daniel Hayes "Pete"; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, William Hayes and Lee A. Hayes.

A celebration of life will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.
