Betty Lou Houck Duvall
1934-2025
"She made God the center of her life and heaven her home."
Surrounded by the love of her precious family and with fond memories on her mind, Betty Lou Houck Duvall, age 91, of Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2025.
Betty was born in the fall of 1934 on October 1st. She was the blessing of the late Raymond and Katherine Wilson Houck Dalton. Betty worked diligently to provide for her family as a cook for the Boyd County School System at Summit Elementary, where children looked forward to seeing her every day, until her retirement in 1996.
Betty had a creative soul and loved to craft and paint, making treasures her family will cherish for years to come. She kept her mind sharp throughout the years and enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. Betty had a strong faith in her Savior and an unwavering devotion to God. To say she was a Devout Woman of God is an understatement. She had a large family and served as a role model for what a Proverbs Woman should look like.
Betty's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, faith, and gentle spirit. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones gone before her and resting safely in the arms of her Lord.
Betty leaves behind her devoted children, Christi Gill and her husband Shelby of Winchester, KY, Kathy Wheeler and her husband Sheldon of Ashland, KY, Joey Duvall and his wife Carol of Ashland, KY, and Melissa Cox and her husband Mike of Louisa, KY; eight loving grandchildren, Ashley Gill Harrington, Josh Wheeler, Amanda Gill Adams, Jeremy Wheeler, Travis Cox, Justin Wheeler, Cristoper Duvall, and Morgan Cox Lester, 10 precious great-grandchildren, and one sister Lorraine Sargent and her husband Don of Ashland, KY. Also surviving is many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Raymond and Katherine Wilson Houck Dalton,Betty is enjoying a Heavenly reunion with her beloved husband of 56 years, Frank Duvall, one brother Bobby Ray, her sister Janita Cordle, and one brother-in-law Tom Cordle.
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Neal Funeral Home located at 2409 Center Street, on Thursday October 23, 2025, from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, beginning at 1 pm with her Son-in-Laws, Pastor Mike Cox & Pastor Sheldon Wheeler officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00pm.

Betty was an absolutely wonderful person. I can remember hearing her sing at England Hill FWBC with her sister Lorraine. You could always expect a blessing when the two sang. We´ll never forgot the love and kindness she showed everyone she came in contact with. To know Betty was to love her. She´ll be missed but we know where she´s at. Prayers for the family and friends she left behind.
