Betty Jean Flak

Betty Jean Flak of Delta Township passed away January 23, 2025 at home with her loving husband by her side. Jeannie was born October 11, 1950 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Henry Francis and Ada Louise (Searing) Clark. Her first job was working at the Lansing State Journal at the age of 16 and she graduated from Everett High School in the Class of 1968. She also completed numerous business community college courses. Jeannie worked as an Assistant to the head Engineer at Giffels Civil Engineering in Detroit, the State Employees Credit Union where she received recognition for her work in Human Resources, and ultimately retired from the State of Michigan after eleven years.
Jeannie loved the Caribbean Islands and after she married her husband, Larry they enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States until they purchased a cottage up-north. She enjoyed daily devotions and attending church. She valued and looked forward to spending time with her family during the holiday, special occasions, and playing board games. Jeannie also kept up with the latest styles of clothes and fashion, liked to shop, and eat out with her girlfriends. She was a beautiful lady with a loving heart and would often have a smile on her face in spite of the health challenges she endured over the past several years. She will be missed by her husband, family, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 7910 W. St. Joseph Highway, Lansing, Michigan 48917 with Pastor Bill Wangelin, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
