Betty Henry, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Born on June 13, 1931. Betty lived a long and beautiful life marked by love, generosity, and an unshakable devotion to others.
On June 12, 1948, Betty married the love of her life, Travis L. Henry. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with laughter, devotion, and shared purpose. They celebrated 56 wonderful years together before Travis's passing, and their love remains a lasting example to all who knew them.
Betty found joy in the simple things, planting and caring for her massive garden, where her tomatoes became well known to friends and neighbors alike. Her green thumb and tireless work ethic were just a few of the gifts she shared with the world.
A talented artist and craftswoman, Betty painted beautiful pictures and brought her creativity to life through woodwork pieces cut by Travis. She was also a skilled seamstress, whose hands seemed to bring fabric to life. She lovingly crocheted and quilted, creating treasured handmade quilts for her family, friends, and even nursing home residents who received her work as a gesture of warmth and kindness.
Her service extended beyond her home. Betty loved volunteering at nursing homes, helping with bingo and sharing laughter with the residents. She was always ready to lend a hand, a listening ear, or a kind word, embodying the spirit of a true servant.
Above all, Betty adored her family. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, leaving them with countless memories of love, laughter, and care.
Betty was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, Texas, and later of First Baptist Church in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Her faith guided every step of her life, and her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Nugent (Leon) and Rhonda Holder (Howard); grandchildren LeAnne Plaisance (Jeff), Cortni Kyle (Chad), and Trant Holder; and great grandchildren Greyson Kyle, Anna Payton Kyle, Donovan Plaisance, and Marley Plaisance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis L. Henry; her parents, Bud and Mollie Dugan Thompson; and her granddaughter, Kara Holder.
Memorial contributions may be made to Love Mission or the TV Ministry of First Baptist Church, Kosciusko, Mississippi, causes dear to Betty's heart.
