Services for Betty L. (Janowski) Kessler, 81, of Eastlake, will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kessler passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Born April 2, 1944, she was a lifelong Northeast Ohio resident.
She was an avid Cleveland “Indians” fan and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. She also loved gambling, internet cafes, doing word searches, coloring, Betty Boop, playing pool and Yahtzee! with her grandson, Kevin.
Survivors are her daughters, Tammy Kessler and Peggy (Kevin) Jackam; grandsons, Nicholas (Branden) Kessler-Helton, Kevin Kessler, David Jackam and Alex Jackam; sister, Rose Slama and brother, Kenneth Janowski. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband 39 years, Ellsworth “Hank” Kessler in 2006; and her daughter, Cynthia in 1981. Her parents, Joseph and Genevieve (Hemulac) Janowski and sister, Mary Jane Lau are also deceased.
Final resting place will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village following the services on Wednesday.
