Lucas McGee Obituary

Lucas McGee, a vibrant and cherished young man of 14, of Mentor, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. His passing followed an unexpected cardiac arrest that occurred on September 29, 2025, after which he spent ten courageous days in the PICU. He was born on December 11, 2010, in Willoughby.
Lucas packed a remarkable amount of passion, creativity, and service into his young life. His commitment to his faith was evident through his volunteer work at Christian Life Church, where he proudly served as a Sunday school teacher and was deeply involved with the Youth Group.
A true enthusiast, Lucas immersed himself in many activities. He was a talented performer, dedicating his energy to wrestling, theater, and choir. Lucas could be found most days snacking on a pound of strawberries, to match his beautiful head of red hair, while pursuing either his love for video gaming with friends or enjoying his favorite animes. Known for his constant smile, infectious energy, and great, witty sense of humor, Lucas had, in recent years, developed a special kinship with giraffes, often noting his own rapid growth in height and constellation of freckles. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his parents and siblings.
Lucas was the baby of his family, the piece that made everything feel complete. At home, he brought laughter, warmth, and a sense of wholeness that can never be replaced. Though the youngest in his immediate family, he was a steady example and source of inspiration to his younger cousins, Jack and Jeremy, who looked up to him with admiration and love. For his family, one of the most cherished memories will be annual trips to Universal Studios, where Lucas relished in both the immersive experiences and shows along with the thrill and adventure of the many attractions.
He leaves behind his devoted parents, Dave and Kristy McGee, and his beloved siblings, Allyssa McGee and David McGee. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Loraine Tiderman; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Meelich; and his paternal grandfather, David McGee. Lucas was a cherished nephew to his uncle Johnny Tiderman (and his children Jack and Jeremy) and his aunt Jennifer Evans, along with many more paternal aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him deeply.
Lucas was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Tiderman.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH.
Funeral Services for Lucas will be held privately for the family on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The service will be live streamed for those wishing to attend virtually (link to be posted soon). Lucas will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

Dave and Kristy, I'm so incredibly sorry for the loss of Lucas. I still remember meeting him soon after he was born. You brought this tiny swaddled baby to Mongolian BBQ for dinner. I thought "How cool to share a birthday with this tiny baby".
I can't imagine how deeply you must be grieving. His spirit will ALWAYS be with you. Look for those little nods from him from heaven above. I hope you can find comfort in the happy memories of him. I'm thinking of you both during this difficult time.
