Betty Gene (Register) Leach, 82 of Asher, Oklahoma was born on March 25, 1943, in Hamilton, Texas, to Joe Loranze and Ruby Mae (Murry) Register. Betty looked upon the face of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at St. Anthony Hospital, Shawnee, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
Betty grew up in Hamilton, Texas where she attended school and graduated from Sweetwater High School, Sweetwater, Texas with the class of 1961.
Betty married the love of her life, Fred S. Leach on July 22, 1970, at Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they spent many wonderful years of marriage together and raised two children, Johnny and Rhonda. Fred preceded her in death on March 19, 2000.
Betty established a career as a waitress at several restaurants in Texas and Oklahoma. She was a kindhearted individual who enjoyed providing excellent customer service and would lend a helping hand to those in need.
Betty found joy in doing word searches, shopping, and reading her Bible, which she had read multiple times, and found inspiration in every word. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and the Rebekahs. Betty had a deep personal relationship with God and was a member of the Church of Christ, Hamilton, Texas. Betty treasured spending time with her family and friends, she will be deeply missed and greatly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Oklahoma. Rod Minor will officiate. Interment will be at Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing her memory is one daughter, Rhonda Stevens and husband, Randy of Asher, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; four brothers, Joe Donnie Register and wife, Pat of Brownwood, Texas, Robert Lee Register of Hamilton, Texas, Harold Register of Hamilton, Texas, Sam Register of Hamilton, Texas; two sisters, Ruby Jo Register of New York, New York, Sussie Morgan of Ft. Worth, Texas; one brother-in-law, Bob Leach of Bristow, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Jymay Davis of Wellston, Oklahoma; and close friends, Dr. Ping Tan of Hamilton, Texas, Johnny Chavirra and wife, Jackie of Hamilton, Texas, Lily Hudson of Hamilton, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Leach, one son, Johnny Lee Leach; her parents, Joe Loranze and Ruby Mae Register; three brothers, Joe Ruben Register, J.L. Register, Jr., Eugene Register; one sister, Jackie Beverly Ada; two brothers-in-law, Marlin Morgan, Bill Davis; and one sister-in-law, Carol "Rusty" Leach.
Memorials can be made to the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Oklahoma in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.
