Gwendolyn Fay Edler, of Dover, Arkansas, and formerly of Canute, Oklahoma was born on August 5, 1939, in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Freeman R. "Boog" and Pauline Edith (Lance) Pollard. Gwen looked upon the face of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Little Rock Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family.
Gwen was raised and grew up in Sentinel, Oklahoma where she attended Sentinel Public Schools, Sentinel, Oklahoma.
Gwen married the love of her life, Eddie Edler on May 18, 1978, at Wheeler, Texas. Together they spent many wonderful years of marriage together and raised fifteen children. They made their home on the farm in Canute, Oklahoma. Eddie preceded her in death on September 24, 2009.
Gwen was a waitress at Opal's Restaurant in Canute, Oklahoma. She proudly served as the Activities Director at Bell Avenue Nursing Home,
Elk City, Oklahoma and the Cordell Christian Home, Cordell, Oklahoma. Before Gwen's retirement, she also owned and operated Farmer's Grill in Canute, Oklahoma.
Gwen and Eddie decided it was time to enjoy life and purchased a log cabin at Lake Eufaula in 2003. They had a love for the outdoors, fishing on the lake and especially liked trout line fishing. Gwen took great pride and loved attending her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren's activities.
Gwen had many hobbies which included crafting and sewing. She had a deep personal relationship with God and was a devoted member of St. Matthew Catholic Church,
Elk City, Oklahoma. Gwen treasured spending time with her family and friends, she will be truly missed and greatly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. Matthew Catholic Church,
Elk City, Oklahoma. Deacon Bill Roesch will officiate. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2025, at St. Matthew Catholic Church,
Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Mandagiri Balaswamy will officiate. Interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Canute, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in
Elk City, Oklahoma.

Elk City, Oklahoma, LeAnna Patton and husband, Darron of
Elk City, Oklahoma; one brother, Ronald Pollard and wife, Sandra of Owasso, Oklahoma; one sister, Shirley Goss and husband, Larry of Sentinel, Oklahoma; thirty-four grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Edler, parents: Freeman R. "Boog" and Pauline Edith Pollard; one son, Dale Hollandsworth; one daughter, Melinda Fay Edler; one son-in-law, Troy Jordan; and one brother, Raymond Eugene Pollard.
