Betty Lightburn Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 12, 2023.
Betty Louise Lightburn passed away on February 9, 2023 at the age of 93 in Littleton, Colorado.
She was born in Fruita, Colorado to William Henry and Lottie Alice (Perry) Hoback. She was one of 12 children and is survived by sisters Shirley Feugate of Grand Junction, Colorado and Alice (Ray) Stuart of Alma, Arkansas as well as many nieces and nephews.
She married Vernon David Lightburn on September 19, 1948 in Tucson, Arizona. Her daughter Suzanne Adele (Dan) and son Craig Curtis (Janet) were born in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Due to Vernon's work, they lived in many towns in Colorado, but they retired in Golden and eventually to Wheat Ridge. After Vernon's passing in May 2002, Betty continued to live on her own in Wheat Ridge. She eventually moved to live with daughter, Suzanne and son-in-law, Dan in Highlands Ranch in 2021. As her health deteriorated, she spent her final months at a nursing care facility close to Suzanne so she could visit her daily until her death.
Funeral services will be held on February 17th at 2pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 S Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO 80121. Reception will follow at 3pm at the mortuary.
Memorial gifts may be made to either of the following:
1) Denver Dumb Friends League (DDFL.org) 2080 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80231-3298
2) American Heart Assn (heart.org) PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692
