Betty Ann (Eddy) Manley, 75, of Benson, passed away on March 19, 2025, at home surrounded by her husband and many of the ones she loved. Betty was born on December 27, 1949, in Mooers Forks, NY, the daughter of Perry and Hattie (Langley) Eddy. She graduated class of 1968, from Shoreham High School. Betty worked at the former Brandon Training School and was also a secretary at G Stone Motors of Middlebury. She later supported her husband on their farm and running his trucking business. Over the years she sold Avon products and babysat for many families. Taking care of people was what she did best. Her pride and joy were her five children, all her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
Betty was a strong, proud woman and went out of this world just as she wanted and on her own terms. She was so damn stubborn, always more worried about other people than herself, often to her detriment. She was a crafty lady and made the best homemade apple pie-that even to this day her children, though they've tried, can't get it just right; that is proof that she poured so much love into everyone and everything around her. She will be sorely missed, but her unconditional love will live on in all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Survivors include the love of her life for over 54 years husband William "Skip" Manley of Benson, VT; sons Jason (Michele) Manley of Rutland, VT, and Nathan (Philicity Stevens) Manley of Fair Haven, VT; daughters Stacy (Ed) Bilodeau of Rutland, VT, Jaka (Tom Kasuba) Manley of Benson, VT, and Ashley (Ron) Lamb of Rutland, VT; grandchildren Kayla, Madison, Sam "lil bud", Haley, Ryan, Kolby, Kayla, Lexi, Tyler, Molly, Isabella, Collin, Peyton, Calamity, Schuyler, Raegan, and great-granddaughters Ali, Khloe, and Blakelyn; sisters Bert (Bob) Cenate of Poultney, VT and Alice (Bruce) Babbie of Shoreham, VT; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by both parents, brothers Douglas, Richard and Bill, and sisters Barbara and Elizabeth.
In lieu of services, a celebration of life will be held at the Benson Community Hall on Saturday, March 29th from 2-5 pm.
